Journals Final Evaluational

June 3rd Week

- Monday, May 30, 2011 - Was not at school - Half Day Kayak Trip.
- Tuesday, May 31, 2011 - Created a walk-through my house and made a video to see if there is anything I could do or fix to make it better.
- Wednesday, June 1, 2011 - Watched the video of my walk-through. I see areas that could improve
- Thursday, June 2, 2011 - Fixed the V-Block and Screwdriver project that we did on Rhinoceros.
- Friday, June 3, 2011 - Fixed the walk-through of my house and started putting dimensions in.

June 10th Week

- Monday, June 6, 2011 - Worked on finishing putting the dimensions into my house. Created extra sheets so I could put the floor plan with and without dimensions, and the elevations of my house in wire-frame and also in rendered form. I only got the floor plan without dimensions and the wire-frame of my elevations.
- Tuesday, June 7, 2011 - Mr. D evaluated our progress on our houses and gave us marks and told us what we could improve on and what we forgot to do in the creative process. Then I put the floor plans and wire-frame elevation in a title block.
- Wednesday, June 8, 2011 - Figured out how to get the elevations of my house in rendered format, quickly put them in their designated title block.I also changed all the information at the side of the title block, by double-clicking it. At the end of class we listened to Mr. D talk about the review for the exam.
- Thursday, June 9, 2011 - Fixed my bubble diagram so it would match the floor plan that I did on Envisioneer. After finishing that I imported my Envisioneer floor plan to Auto-CAD for the same reason but the floor plan I did on Auto-CAD was widely different then the one from Envisioneer. Then I uploaded them to my blog, under Final Project - House Design page. Then just for the heck of it I created a new elevation of my house except it was not rendered or it did not have any unnecessary lines in it, just the outside of the house.
- Friday, June 10, 2011 - I started transferring the title blocks of my house from Envisioneer formatting to jpeg format. This is proving to be a lengthy process because you can not just change the format straight from Envisioneer to jpeg. First, you have to export the title block to Auto-CAD, then change the colour of the lines to white. After that you save the Auto-CAD file as a jpeg by going to the file tab and clicking the Plot option and in that option go to the Printer portion and click the drop down tab beside name and click PublishToWeb JPG.pc3. Once that is done, you open the jpeg in Paint program and fix the boundaries, also at this stage if you had pictures in Envisioneer to have to import them in because Auto-CAD deletes the pictures. Then I saved the files and I plan to upload them to my blog once I finish them all. This part is tedious but a necessary process to go through.

June 17th Week

- Monday, June 13, 2011 - I decided to forget my former plan of waiting until I finished formatting all of my Envisioneer drawings to jpeg, mostly because I forgot which ones I have done. Finish re-formatting my house from Envisioneer to jpeg and I also uploaded all the pictures to my blog. Now some more problems have shown up, first the video of my house walk-through will not save as the entire video. Second, I have learned of a new mini-project that we have to do, which is to make a booklet in photo-shop.
- Tuesday, June 14, 2011 - The headers of the pictures of my house needed to be fixed because they would keep screwing up, it was driving me insane looking at them. After finishing with that, Mr. D showed me how to save the walk-through of my house as a video...took most of the class to save a 53 second video.
- Wednesday, June 15, 2011 - The video of my house walk-through won't upload to my blog, apparently it didn't save as the right type of file, doesn't matter anymore as I was told just to move on. For the next project we have to present our house in a booklet type format, but to make life easier, you can do it in Powerpoint and transfer it into photoshop.
- Thursday, June 16, 2011 - It is down to the wire, today and tomorrow are the last days to work on this project. I am not too worried about it though, because this project is almost finished. Although converting the room sizes is a pain though, I think that part should be done at home so time isn't wasted. So I have been converting my house measurements and they don't seem to be coming out right...I guess asking Mr. D how to find square footage for the rooms. What a waste of a night.
- Friday, June 17, 2011 - Today is the final day to finish our houses that we have been working on for a month, I am so excited. It was a busy period finishing the project, worked on getting the final jpeg images of the rooms in 3D perspective so we can see the rooms with the furniture in them. To make the 3D perspective a jpeg, I pretty much just used the Print Screen key and pasted it into the Paint program then saved as a jpeg. Then I uploaded all the photos into my PowerPoint presentation. After that the file was converted into a PDF file, which made it so it would be possible to create a link on my blog, the link is just below my company's logo and just above these journals to the left. This will be my final journal entry, it's been fun so I hope you enjoy reading this as much as I have been working on this project.
